This is my podcast about how I can use podcasting in my classroom. I just put the file right in here, but I did go through the process with media mill and iTunes.
I liked your idea of having your 9th graders podcast about the play vs book for Of Mice & Men. It's neat to compare written to spoken story. Podcast is itself a spoken medium, which would likely result in a different work product than a student's written evaluation. For your sports class, you might refer to Josh's vlog from earlier in the term, when he referenced his favorite all-time tv show: Sports Night!
Jerrod: I found this site while browsing a diigo group on project-based learning. It's a unique approach to Of Mice & Men that uses music: www.corndancer.com/tunes/tunes_main.html
I was thinking more about your idea regarding having students do a sports cast. It's a great idea. I wonder if they could explore bias by having someone tell the same game from the perspective of a home town announcer and a visiting announcer. Seems like they might be able to be pretty playful with it - dig up dirt on the teams and only talk about the tabloid stories related to the rival team.
